Swimming is a non-weight bearing form of exercise and therefore gentler on joints and ligaments. Swimming in water also enables exercise without injury and access ramps to the pool make swimming more accessible for dogs with mobility problems.
Swimming offers huge mental and physical benefits for dogs (and owners!).
From overcoming a fear of water and learning to swim, through to rehabilitation, strength training and weight loss or to simply enjoying the fun of swimming alongside your dog, the Doggy Splash pool is the perfect venue for it all.
Don’t forget that 5 minutes of exercise in water is the equivalent of a 5 mile run on dry land, so swimming is also a great alternative for owners who can’t get out and about with their dog as much as they’d like.
And whilst swimming for health reasons or simply for fun are great ways to enjoy our pool, it’s also a perfect way to increase your dog’s safety. Canine swimming lessons ensure your dog overcomes any fears and is a strong and able swimmer – giving you both confidence when tackling the challenges of the great outdoors
Finally, for both owners or dogs who cannot walk a great distance, swimming is also a wonderful way to enable exercise.
We are not a Hydrotherapy service and do not provide any kind of Hydrotherapic support. We purely provide a safe swimming pool and play environment for dogs and their owners to enjoy swimming and playing together while having a fun enjoyable experience in a safe environment. We will also help nervous dogs overcome the fear of water and help them to become comfortable in a water play environment.
The pool is an ultra large rectangular 32 feet (9.75 meters) long x 16 feet (4.88 metres) wide x 4.33 feet (1.32 meters) deep. It’s one of the largest above the ground open air Doggy Swimming pool in North Hampshire. Using the latest in swim pool design technology it can hold a massive 54,368 litres of water.. The pool is above ground, with a ramp that goes up to the decking area, and from there, a ramp descends into the water, to support older dogs or dogs that are afraid of water. There is also a dive board for the braver more sporty dogs to dive off into the pool & allow them to make a big splash.
We are open from June through to the end of September, Mondays to Saturdays, from 10:30 am to 8:00 pm. Within these timeframes we are open subject to weather conditions, so if the weather forecast looks awful / dangerous, please always check with us first before arriving.
Yes, pool toys such as water balls, rings and bars will be available for all swim sessions. You will also find canine life jackets for dogs who need more support in the water, who are recovering from injury or who are learning to swim. Please request life jackets when booking. Each session is 30 minutes long.
The 30-minute slot is 20 minutes in the pool with 5 mins either end getting into the pool and out at the end of the session. Twenty (20) minutes is the maximum a dog should be exercising in water, as one minute of water exercise is equal to a one mile walk.
Yes, there is a large standing area around the pool. Friends and family are welcome to watch the swimming.
No, there is no need to be in the water – For assisted sessions, one of our trained staff will be in the pool to play with and look after your dog whilst you can provide support from the pool side. You are, however, responsible for your dog toileting and showering before and after the session.

Unfortunately, for insurance reasons, we cannot let children under 16 swim with the dogs. We highly recommend you wear a wetsuit to protect from scratches and to keep yourself warm as the pool is not heated.
You have to be 16 years and older. Unfortunately, for insurance reasons, we cannot let children under 16 use the pool or swim with the dogs.
We recommend you do not eat several hours before swimming, for your own comfort and safety.
We recommend you wear a long sleeve tea shirt or wetsuit to stop you being scratched and more importantly to help keep you warm as the pool is not heated. Finally, our recommendation is that you shower when you get home after your swimming session, and leave around an hour till the next meal.
During a pool party booking, you can have up to 5 adults and 5 dogs in the pool at the same time. Unfortunately, for health and safety, insurance reasons, we cannot let children under 16 swim with the dogs.
The average temperature of an outdoor swimming pool can vary depending on various factors such time of year, location, and climate. The UK's summer season temperature range is generally considered comfortable for most dogs and helps prevent them from getting too cold or experiencing discomfort while swimming.
The short answer is NO. Our doggy swimming pool uses the latest Krystal Clear Sand Filter Pump with Hydro Aeration Technology. Pool sand filters and kidneys play similar roles; they both purify and help keep our pool and body healthy. While we could also use chlorine and other useful chemicals to destroy the impurities in our doggy swimming pool, we don't so the dogs can swim safely in a chemical free environment as the filter removes the majority of impurities from water efficiently and appropriately. Most importantly, sand filters are among the top filters to use in cleaning a pool. These pool filters are packed with special sand.
Our pool has been professionally built. A sophisticated sand filtration system ensures a constant flow of filtered and cleaned water circulates through the pool. This constant movement also keeps water fresh and avoids stagnation. The pool ph and chlorine level is tested three times a day to ensure perfect swimming conditions. All our staff are fully trained in water management ensuring they know exactly how to hygienically maintain the pool.
We are located in a large field in the countryside, with plenty of room to exercise the dogs and to toilet them (please pick up your dogs poo) before entering the pool. There is a car parking area for 3-4 cars. Poolside, there is a viewing standing area around the pool for owners and their guests to watch and take photos. We "do not" have any toilets or catering facilities onsite, so please bring your own food and drinks and remember to take a comfort break beforehand!
Yes, the poolside area is perfect for party picnic provisions. You’re welcome to bring your own food and drink and any decorations, providing you tidy it all away by the end of your sessions and take any rubbish home with you. There is a picnic table provided
There is a standard pool hire charge for exclusive use when the pool party is booked. You will then pay extra for each adult or dog who swims. For pricing options click here
On arrival, if other guests and their dogs are still on-site, please stay in your car until the previous guests have loaded their dogs into their vehicles and departed.
Please bring poo bags with you and use the poo bins provided. We want to keep the area clean and pleasant so would urge you to pick up after your dog.
Please place poo bags in the green bins or take away.
You will be out in the peaceful countryside so we ask you to respect this and not have any loud music playing for our neighbours sake. In wetter times please bring appropriate footwear and clothing
